PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY
In conducting its activities related to the provision of social services within the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, the "Autism Today" Association is committed to implementing guarantees for the right to personal data protection. The protection of personal data is governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data - General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as by national legislation related to the protection of personal data. The "Autism Today" Association takes all necessary measures to ensure that your personal data is processed safely and in accordance with European data protection legislation. We collect personal information from you when you fill out feedback forms on our site, when you correspond with us in writing, including by email, phone, or send us inquiries, fill out information packages, or enter into a contract with us when starting therapy.
PURPOSE AND PROCEDURE FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
The personal data you have provided or would provide to the "Autism Today" Association will be processed for the following purposes and in the following cases:
a) To provide feedback to you when you make inquiries through our website;
b) To take the necessary actions for concluding a contract, as well as fulfilling the contract you have entered into with us;
c) To contact you for service satisfaction surveys and, if you have agreed, to use your data to send you information about various campaigns and events related to our activities;
d) To respond to your requests regarding the exercise of your rights concerning your personal data.
WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE PROCESS
In addition to basic personal data such as full name, ID number, address, phone number, and email, due to the nature of the social service we provide, special categories of personal data relating to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, psychological, and social identity of your child will be collected, stored, and processed solely in connection with and as far as necessary for the above-mentioned purposes.
RETENTION PERIOD FOR YOUR PERSONAL DATA
The "Autism Today" Association retains your personal data no longer than necessary for the purposes for which these data are collected and processed, and more specifically:
a) for up to 5 years from the date of the initial assessment or from the date of contract termination if one is concluded, but no less than 7 years from the start date of the therapy;
b) for the time during which the "Autism Today" Association is obliged to comply with certain legal or regulatory requirements.
The "Autism Today" Association may retain your data in an archive file when necessary to protect its legitimate interests in legal disputes until the expiration of the statutory period under applicable law.
CONSEQUENCES OF NOT PROVIDING DATA
The "Autism Today" Association collects only the data necessary for each of the purposes for which it collects and processes your data. Providing data is not mandatory, except in cases where it is required by the nature of your relationship with the "Autism Today" Association. However, not providing the necessary data will prevent the "Autism Today" Association from providing the respective service - preparation of the initial assessment, concluding a contract, or starting and conducting therapies with us.
ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA
Your personal data is processed by the "Autism Today" Association and our therapists and specialists. Your personal data may also be processed by individuals and/or legal entities within the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, acting on behalf of the "Autism Today" Association, provided they apply the same or higher level of protection of your personal data. Data may be transferred to third parties in compliance with legal obligations, following authorities' orders, or exercising the rights of the "Autism Today" Association before judicial authorities.
STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA
Your data may be processed on paper, through automated or electronic means. The "Autism Today" Association stores your personal data according to legal data protection requirements, implementing high administrative, technological, and organizational measures for the protection of these personal data, such as pseudonymization, access restriction and control, use of passwords and personal access codes, non-disclosure of data to third parties, guarding the office premises with security systems, etc.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the following rights:
1. Right of access to your personal data - this means the right to receive information from the "Autism Today" Association whether your data is being processed and on what basis, and where applicable - access to the data itself, which means obtaining a copy of your data;
2. Right to rectification and right to erasure/correction - this means the right to request correction of inaccurate and/or incomplete data, as well as erasure of data when this request is legitimate;
3. Right to restricted processing - this means the right to request suspension of processing when the request is legitimate;
4. Right to data portability - this means the right to receive data in a structured, widely used, and machine-readable format for the purpose of transferring the data to another Data Controller;
5. Right to object - this means the right to object to the processing of data when the request is legitimate, including the right to object to the sending of marketing information;
6. Right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority in case of illegal data processing.
