ABA Center for Behavioral and Comprehensive Therapy "Autism Today" - Studentski Grad
The new ABA Center for Behavioral and Comprehensive Therapy "Autism Today" - Studentski Grad, which opened its doors to children on November 24th, is filling up with more and more children every day. These children are receiving the highest quality therapy and a chance for socialization and a dignified life!
The establishment of the center would not have been possible without the "I Help" campaign by BNI Diamond, the Children of Bulgaria Foundation, the Embassy of Israel in Bulgaria, and Global Mansion!
By the end of the year, we expect more than 40 children to have crossed the threshold of our new center to receive the highest quality therapy, a chance for integration and a dignified life, and peace of mind and faith for their parents and loved ones!
The second ABA Center for Behavioral and Comprehensive Therapy "Autism Today" in Sofia, Studentski Grad, is now a reality!
The service provided by the "Autism Today" Association is unparalleled and does not overlap with any other service provided in Bulgaria, offering a chance for children and families of children with autism, whose number is steadily increasing!
Due to the increasing need in the territory of the Sofia Municipality and the long waiting list of children and their parents to receive therapy at the ABA Center in Gorublyane, the "Autism Today" Association opened a second center in Sofia on November 24th, located in the Student Polyclinic. The premises were renovated entirely with the power of the "Pay it Forward" initiative and the donations of many individuals, companies, and organizations.
The fundraising campaign was supported by BNI Diamond with the "I Help" campaign.
The center was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, and the very next day, the therapists of the association started assessing 20 children from the waiting list to create their individual programs.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most powerful tool worldwide with scientifically proven value, modifying the behavior of children with autistic and problematic behavior towards socially acceptable behavior. The ABA science uses stimuli, rewarding socially acceptable behavior, and removing stimuli for unacceptable behavior.
Starting behavioral therapy at a very early age, before and shortly after the child's second birthday, at the first signs of markers, children have a chance to improve their communication and social skills to the extent that by the age of five, they no longer need behavioral therapy and additional support.
The earlier a child starts behavioral therapy, the better the achievements and the greater the chance for an independent and dignified life.
At any age, behavioral therapy helps the child reach their maximum potential and improve communication and social skills.
The service provided by the "Autism Today" Association in Bulgaria is: high-quality therapeutic care for children with autism spectrum disorder - Applied Behavior Analysis, with specialists working under continuous supervision by a representative of the American Certification Board of Behavior Analysts.
They discuss each child's program with their supervisors monthly, review progress, reassess, and change the program upon achieving set goals.
The center provides a comprehensive service, with behavioral therapy work complemented by the work of occupational therapists and speech therapists with the child, who also receive monthly supervision from highly qualified supervisors. This allows us to provide the highest quality therapeutic care for children with autism in Bulgaria.
